Innovative Paint Protection From CSR
Ceramic Coating
Long Lasting Gloss With Smarter Surface Protection
The Many Benefits Of Ceramic Coatings
CSRCeramic coating enhances gloss, improves water behavior, and creates a smoother surface that is easier to wash and maintain. It also helps reduce the ability of road grime, insects, pollen, and environmental contamination to bond as firmly to the exterior. However, the finished result depends heavily on the condition of the surface beneath the coating.
Before any coating is applied, our team carefully inspects the automobile to determine the level of preparation and paint correction needed. Some vehicles may only require light refinement, while others may benefit from more extensive correction to address swirl marks, water spots, scratches, or other visible imperfections. We make recommendations based on the actual condition of the finish rather than applying the same process to every vehicle.
New automobiles are often excellent candidates for ceramic coating because the paint can be protected early in ownership, before years of exposure and routine washing begin to affect the finish. Even brand new vehicles may need correction, however. Transportation, outdoor storage, dealership preparation, and improper washing can leave behind defects before the owner ever takes delivery.
For automobiles protected with paint protection film, we apply Gtechniq HALO, a coating specifically formulated for flexible automotive films. It helps improve water and dirt repellency, reduces buildup, and makes the PPF easier to maintain while preserving the appearance and performance of the film.
Ceramic Coating FAQ's
What does ceramic coating do for a vehicle?
Ceramic coating creates a durable, slick surface that enhances gloss, improves water behavior, and makes routine cleaning more manageable. It also helps reduce how firmly road grime, insects, pollen, and environmental contamination bond to the exterior.
Does ceramic coating prevent scratches and rock chips?
Ceramic coating is not designed to stop rock chips, deep scratches, dents, or significant impacts. It may help reduce minor wash related marks, but paint protection film is the better solution when physical impact protection is the priority.
Does the paint need to be corrected before ceramic coating?
The paint should always be inspected before coating. Ceramic coating preserves the condition of the surface beneath it, which means existing swirl marks, scratches, water spots, and other imperfections may remain visible after application.
Some vehicles only require light refinement, while others benefit from more involved paint correction. Our team evaluates each automobile and recommends the appropriate level of preparation based on its actual condition.
Should a new vehicle receive paint correction?
New vehicles are often excellent candidates for ceramic coating because the finish can be protected early. However, new paint is not always flawless.
Transportation, dealership washing, outdoor storage, and vehicle preparation can introduce swirl marks, water spots, light scratches, and other imperfections before delivery. We inspect new automobiles under controlled lighting and recommend correction only when it will improve the final result.
Can ceramic coating be applied over paint protection film?
Yes. Paint protection film can be coated with a product specifically designed for flexible automotive films.
CSR Performance Films applies Gtechniq HALO over PPF to improve water and dirt repellency, reduce surface buildup, and make the film easier to maintain. HALO can be used on compatible gloss, satin, and matte films.
Is ceramic coating a replacement for paint protection film?
No. The two services provide different benefits.
Paint protection film helps defend painted surfaces against chips, scratches, and road debris. Ceramic coating improves gloss, water repellency, chemical resistance, and ease of maintenance. Many vehicle owners combine the two for a more complete protection plan.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Durability depends on the Gtechniq coating selected, the preparation completed before application, how the vehicle is stored, how often it is driven, and how it is maintained.
Our team will explain the expected performance and care requirements of the recommended coating before the service begins.
Does a ceramic coated vehicle still need to be washed?
Yes. Ceramic coating makes maintenance easier, but it does not eliminate the need for regular washing.
Dirt, pollen, insects, mineral deposits, and road grime will still collect on the exterior. Proper hand washing helps maintain the coating’s appearance, slickness, and hydrophobic performance.
How should I maintain my vehicle after ceramic coating?
We recommend regular hand washing with coating safe products, clean wash media, and quality microfiber towels. Automatic brush washes should be avoided because they can introduce scratches and reduce the quality of the finish over time.
